Mirai Icon for Mirai-related Scenes

senashenta wrote a scene yesterday, and I sat down to type these down because I was inspired. Mirai is possibly one of my favorite ND characters. S/he's just adorable in that prickly way that Mirai can be. I can't explain it. Mirai is just a lot of fun, and many people in the ND universe thinks so too, whether s/he likes it or not, lol.


When Hisa sees Mirai for the first time, the first thing that comes to her mind is a feral cat: tense, hissing, and distrustful. And for whatever reason, she wants to reach out and pet him. Just to see if she’d get bitten.

She doesn’t pet him, of course. She does mention the urge in passing to Sachi later, sans afterthought of getting bitten, but still. Her Starlight leader only takes a moment to pause then giggle, because as annoying and meddling as Sachi can be, she also never dismisses Hisa’s musings. Besides, Sachi sees it, too, Hisa knows.

One of their new Starlight trainees is a hissy feral kitten, and they can’t help but find that adorable.

And so when it is time for Mirai to learn to henshin into his Senshi form, Hisa prepares a gift. Something warm and cozy, comforting and soft for such a stressful time to ease him.

Mirai stares a bit guardedly at the huge black pile-lined, cat-eared hoodie but accepts it calmly because he’s learned manners by then. He thanks Hisa softly, politely and holds the hoodie securely.

Hisa just wants to pet him, but again, she doesn’t.

There are just some urges that she knows she must not give in to.

But she can’t stop the miniscule smile that lifts her lips when she later receives a photo of a female Mirai wearing the hoodie. Mirai doesn’t seem to be aware that the picture is being taken, star yellow eyes looking off to the side as she nibbles contemplatively on a stick of pocky. The hoodie’s hood is up, cat ears alert, and Mirai looks relaxed and cute, draped in the loose, warm material.

Hisa-chan, Mirai-chan will notice!!! >_<;;; Sachi messages back and Hisa almost droops in disappointment.

BUT!!! The follow up comes fast. I’ll see if I can get her to come to the palace with me tomorrow and have her wear it again!!! OwOd

Hisa gives the message a thumbs up and puts her phone away. Only to pull it back out so she can save the picture.


Hisa's fascination with Mirai started long before she can put her in her goth lolita ensembles, lol. She keeps supplying Mirai with those warm cat-eared hoodies and all she wants is a picture when s/he wears them the first time. Hisa's always had a unique way of showing affection to the people she takes a shine to.


The first time Tetsuya realizes he now has a boyfriend and a girlfriend is the day Mirai takes one look at him then slams the door in his face.

Tetsuya takes a handful of seconds to blink at his old bedroom door as he tries to process what has happened. Then he lifts a hand to knock gently.

“...Mirai? Are you okay?”

“...Yes…” The answer comes hesitantly after a pause and with a soft voice that is new but still familiar.

Tetsuya tries again. “Do you want to come out?”

Another pause then the door opens slowly to reveal Mirai standing there.

Mirai, who has shrunk a few but noticeable inches and seems to be having a hard time looking him in the eye.

Mirai, who is dressed in a familiar-looking black hoodie with cat ears. Tetsuya has seen Mirai wearing it before. It is large on Mirai’s current smaller frame, falling long enough that it could now be a dress.

Mirai, who has--

“--Thighs.”

Blue eyes widen as Tetsuya replays what has just come out of his mouth, and he slaps a hand over his lips to stop himself from saying more stupid things.

Because yes, Mirai has thighs. Shapely ones in black leggings that look like they can crush his head between them--

“...What?”

Star yellow eyes are now staring at him, round and large. They stare from a familiar, elfin face over pink-hued cheeks and ruby-bitten lips.

“Tetsuya?” That voice is soft and delicate and pretty.

Mirai is so pretty like this, too…

The thought comes slow but sudden and it comes with that same rush of warmth and awe that he hasn’t felt since…

Well.

Since he really looked at Mirai, a male Mirai, and wondered why he hadn’t really noticed him before.

“...Hi…” Tetsuya finally manages after a while.

Mirai stares at him a bit more and Tetsuya watches as she blushes deeper. “...Hello…”

“...Are you hiding from me?”

The question visibly mortifies her and Tetsuya wants to take it back.

“...Yes…”

“...Why?” He can’t stop staring at her though it looks like she wants to shrink back into the room.

Tetsuya’s old room. (Tetsuya doesn’t know why that thought makes him feel hot--)

“...I’m a girl right now,” She murmurs, sounding small and fragile, and she looks away from him again. Tetsuya wants to come closer and hide her against him. Protect her from… everything. “I don't--”

“You’re beautiful.” Tetsuya says it quickly with force like he wants to shoot down every single debilitating thought Mirai has about how she looks right now.

Mirai looks at him like she has no idea what to do with his declaration and something in Tetsuya seizes, because he may sort of understand what that means. And Tetsuya is kind of sorry and still very, very soft.

“...Thank you,” she finally says and it sounds like she says it because it’s what is expected of her to say.

Tetsuya has to smile sympathetically at that. He can’t help it when he asks, “Is it okay if I hug you?”

Mirai’s eyebrows draw together in a look like she’s asking why he would even want to, but she then nods and finally lets go of the doorknob to come closer. She does it carefully, slowly, like she’s giving him all the time in the world to draw back and not do it, but he stays put. When she’s near enough, he closes the gap and carefully wraps his arms around her.

As a girl, Mirai can tuck her head under his chin. It’s a comfortable height difference, and Tetsuya likes it, though of course he doesn't mind Mirai being taller than this normally, too. Something in his chest loosens at having her so close, and he hopes she feels the same easing within her.

Mirai’s hoodie is soft and Tetsuya imagines it must feel good to have it on. He wishes he’s adding another layer of comfort with how he’s holding her.

“Are you okay?” Tetsuya asks quietly after a while.

Her nod against him is small but discernible. “Aa…”

“Okaasan said you were up here and I just wanted to see you,” he tells her in the same quiet tone, tipping his head down a little to try and look at her. “I’ve seen you, though, so I can go if you want me to.”

She seems to think about this for a minute while Tetsuya wishes he doesn’t have to go and leave now. He watches her face and does his best not to do something weird, like try and count her eyelashes.

Mirai is soft and cuddly and he doesn’t want to let go.

“Stay,” she finally decides and Tetsuya feels his chest warm.

“Okay,” he tells her with a nod, gentle and careful. “I’ll stay.”


Sena-san and I are in agreement that Tetsuya is very doting to fem!Mirai. There's just something more vulnerable about her that makes him want to coddle her, though obviously Mirai can certainly take care of herself. At the same time, he's also very, very attracted to her and wouldn't mind being crushed by her thighs, lol.

I imagine fem!Mirai to be smaller in height compared to male!Mirai. She's also curvy, which makes her look good in corsets, lol. Her style definitely evolves after becoming The Doll Face's official model. She becomes more comfortable in dresses and more feminine clothing. She does like looking good, especially since there's someone definitely looking.

Meanwhile, male!Mirai is actually close to Tetsuya in height. He only has to tip his head up a bit to meet Tetsuya's gaze. His build is lean with a bit of muscle. He's bulked up a little since having Miyuki just because, though that's likely due to just wanting to be healthier in general to better take care of his family. I should write more with male!Mirai just to show how gorgeous he is, lol.
